Beta Readers Wanted: Spears for Sparta
I’m looking for a small number of beta readers for my next novella, Spears for Sparta (approximately 40,000 words).
This is a Sons of Iberia prequel set in the 4th century BC, moving from the Iberian peninsula to the Greek cities of Syracuse and Corinth. It keeps the series’ focus on gritty historical fiction; close-quarters combat, shifting loyalties, political pressure, and the experience of ordinary warriors caught between larger powers.
I’m seeking readers who can:
- Give clear, constructive feedback on pacing, characters, plot logic, and historical immersion
- Finish the novella and return notes within roughly 3–4 weeks
- Ideally enjoy authors such as Bernard Cornwell, Conn Iggulden, or Christian Cameron (or who already know the Sons of Iberia books)
If you’re interested, please email enquiries@jglennbauer.com with a short note about your reading preferences and typical turnaround time, and I will be in touch.
Thank you in advance for your time and insight.
